Joseph A. Sequin Jr., a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 23, 1947, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, to Joseph A. Sr. and Ellen (Hotchkiss) Sequin. Joseph lived a life filled with love, adventure, and the spirit of giving, leaving behind a legacy cherished by many.
He was a proud Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. His commitment to his country was a testament to his brave and selfless character. Upon returning home, he channeled his skills and work ethic into a successful career as a commercial painter for DC11 Local 195 until retiring in 2006. He continued to work until he fully retired in 2020.
Family was always at the heart of Joe's life. He is survived by his son, Joseph A. Sequin III, and his daughter, Kimberly A. Sequin, both of whom carry on his legacy of kindness and strength. He also leaves behind his former spouse, Victoria Sequin, and his beloved siblings—brothers Richard, James, and Robert Sequin, and sister Mary Correia. Joe was preceded in death by his dear sister, Mildred Hoyt.
In his free time, he found immense joy in riding motorcycles and collecting classic cars. He loved attending car shows, where he could share his passion with fellow enthusiasts. He also cherished spending time with his family, always finding ways to bring joy and laughter to their gatherings. His desire to help others was evident in the kindness he showed in everyday interactions, as he was always ready to lend a hand.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, March 10th from 4:00 – 7:00pm at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln. His funeral will begin on Tuesday, March 11th at 10:00am at Keefe Funeral Home, followed by a funeral home service at 11:00am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, reflecting his deep commitment to helping those in need.
